The former head of the Interior and Municipalities, Marwan Charbel, indicated that “if we continue in this deteriorating situation in Lebanon, we will not find anything in this country, but there is hope”, indicating that the security situation is not reassuring, “I am in contact with the majority of the security services and we are helping because I have been an officer for 40 years. Lebanon is in the eye of the storm, especially if we are left without a government, and the situation is more political, security and economically volatile, and the situation is delicate, and most of the officials took precautions, and I told the boss of the Free Patriotic Movement, Gebran Bassil, pay attention and that many people are exposed to assassinations to sow the discord that Israel seeks.
And he said in a television statement, that “today 30 years ago, Lebanon went bankrupt, and here we must ask ourselves: Is this bankruptcy a robbery or a conspiracy? I say that both things happened, and whoever stole, unknowingly, participated in the plot, and I think that everyone is avoiding the decision to lift the subsidy or even rationalize it, and none of the parliamentarians dares to take or announce such decision.
Regarding political assassinations, Charbel expressed his conviction that it is possible “to repeat in Lebanon the series of murders using remotely operated weapons, that is, electronically without the presence of a human factor, as happened with the assassination of the Iranian scientist Mohsen Fakhryzadeh, and it can be from planes, and sadly the Americans didn’t. They give us radars that detect any aircraft of any kind when it enters Lebanese airspace, although we need modern radars, but unfortunately it also concerns the United States of America and Europe, with the exception of France, Israel, and everything related to Israel. There is a red line, and everyone looks at Lebanon with Israeli eyes. “
The former Minister of the Interior and Municipalities lamented that “in the most difficult and dangerous conditions that Lebanon is going through, some seek the question“ Why did you take my authority? In exchange for that, there are those who tell the interim prime minister, Hassan Diab, that if the government unites, they are taking away the rights of the Sunni community. But the reality is that the conditions are difficult and exceptional, and 4 or 5 months can go by without a government, and what is happening is a big problem, and I tell those who said that the Supreme Defense Council took away the powers to the government, that they review the past because the interim government met with more than once ”.
Charbel attributed the existing problem to two reasons: “The first reason is to cede the Ministry of Finance to the Shiites, and to negotiate with other ministries, which leads the rest to question. Saad Hariri, and the latter should have visited Baabda before declaring that he is a natural candidate for prime minister.
