Lebanon is a key issue on the Elysee agenda … so what is Macron’s focus?

Diplomatic sources in Paris revealed that “he has serious data indicating that President Macron has a serious tendency to activate his initiative in the near future”, but without clarifying the nature of this activation.

According to data from the same sources, the six-week deadline set by President Macron to form a government in Lebanon, of which a week has elapsed so far, does not mean that this formation occurs in the fifth or sixth week. Rather, Paris wants the government to be formed sooner. It will move in this direction, but that certainly depends on the response of the parties in Lebanon, who are supposed to have benefited from the previous experience that ended with President-designate Mustafa Adeeb to apologize.

In response to a question about the validity of what was reported that President Macron will send an envoy to Lebanon to accompany the formation of the government, the sources said: “Lebanon is a key issue on the Elysee’s agenda, and the president Macron will not abandon his initiative, and this is a constant matter for him, and he will definitely be present in Lebanon for it to be successful, be it through personal or diplomatic Delegates. As for the calendar, it is definitely subject to the French president’s calendar.
