Several Lebanese in the north of the country set fire to a Syrian refugee camp after a dispute broke out between a member of their family and “Syrian workers.”

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees confirmed that a major fire broke out in a refugee camp in the Miniyeh region of northern Lebanon, which is home to some 75 Syrian refugee families, and noted that several of the The injured were taken to a nearby hospital.

This occurs when families fled the camp due to fear caused by sounds similar to the explosions of “gas cylinders”.

The “National News Agency” reported that “a problem occurred between a person from the Al-Mir family and some Syrian workers working in Minya, causing a clash of hands and the fall of 3 injured.”

The agency said several young men from Mir’s family intervened and deliberately set fire to some tents for displaced Syrians in the northern region of the country.
Civil defense vehicles arrived and worked to put out the fire, while a Lebanese army force and internal security forces intervened to control the situation.

Activists on social media circulated videos showing the massive fire that the refugee camp in Minya was exposed to.
