Lebanon will return to general shutdown tomorrow due to the Coronavirus outbreak and high infection rates. This step arises as a consequence of the decision of the Supreme Defense Council to close it from tomorrow until November 30, with the exception of the airport and some sectors to limit the spread of the virus. With that decision, questions began about the fate of the programs shown on the screens, especially since they are filmed in closed studios and witness a crowded scene in their scenes. Will filming stop some TV projects? It appears that the media sector is excluded from these decisions, and will continue to function normally, as in previous decisions related to the closure. Some channels even find in the decision to close an opportunity to increase the percentage of their viewers who will focus on following the channels after working remotely from home. In this context, sources told “Al-Akhbar” that the LBCI channel continues to film its programs, while taking more mandatory precautions, such as carrying out PCR checks for photographers and equipment. The screen also continues to prevent behind-the-scenes meetings from filming its shows, for fear of transmitting the virus. Hence Hesham Haddad continues to film his show “Lahoun Wa Bas” (every Tuesday 9:45 pm), and “20 30 Lebanon Vision” (every Monday) hosted by Albert Costanian. As for the show “In Male” (every Friday night), its episodes are filmed in advance, so you can stop filming in the next two weeks or continue your work depending on the number of episodes recorded. At the same bank, Al Jadid keeps his projects as is, with an emphasis on the guests who will come to each show and separate them from one another. The station also continues to record episodes, with the use of sterilization tools that are still being adopted since the Coronavirus outbreak. Tony Khalife continues to film his show, “Tony Khalife” (Every Monday 9:45 PM), live and on air, and “I Am Hek” (every Wednesday), which is being directed by Nichane, and other projects. At the canal gate, sterilization is still being intensively followed, fearing the spread of injuries among employees.
On the mtv channel, the situation is not very different from the rest of her companions. The image of the programs remains the same, while all measures are taken to prevent the spread of the virus. The station operators are also committed to social distancing, as the audience continues to be absent from the television works they film.
Marcel Ghanem appears live on his program “The Time Has Come” (every Thursday), and the rest of the projects also continue their work almost normally. On the other hand, it seems that the channel mbc is heading to freeze the filming of the first season of its show Masked Singer, whose jury is seated by Sirin Abdel Nour, the Syrian star Qusay Khouli, the Egyptian Hassan Al-Raddad and the Saudi Muhannad Al-Hamdi. After filming was supposed to start soon, the Saudi screen is considering postponing filming due to the curfew in the Lebanese regions, from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. Ultimately, the channels continue to follow the division of their employees’ shifts to avoid overcrowding of employees in specific places, especially since the filming of programs requires the exit and entry of employees and technicians to and from the channel.
