On Sunday, the Lebanese Army Command announced the arrest of two Lebanese and six Syrians, in connection with the burning of the camp for displaced Syrians in the Miniyeh region in the north of the country.

The army statement said that “an Intelligence Directorate patrol arrested two Lebanese citizens and six Syrians in the city of Hanin – Al-Minya, due to an individual problem that occurred last night in the city among a group of Lebanese youth and several Syrian workers, which soon turned into shooting in the air before Lebanese youth who also set fire to tents for displaced Syrians.

He added that “the army units intervened and patrolled the area and carried out raids in search of those involved in the shooting and burning of tents, and that they were seized from homes that were raided with military weapons, ammunition and military equipment.”

And the Lebanese National News Agency previously reported that the camp was burned down by a group of youths after a dispute between a local resident and several Syrian workers escalated into a fight, resulting in the fall of 3 injuries.
