The Lebanese ambassador to the United Arab Emirates denied what was circulating on social media that Dubai stopped granting Lebanese a “tourist” entry visa to its territory until further notice, describing it as “dangerous”.

“I contacted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates in Dubai, which confirmed that no official circular was issued on this matter, not even from the Department of Immigration,” said the Lebanese ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Fuad Dandan, in a communicated to the Lebanese daily “An-Nahar”, denying the rumors that circulate.

In the details of the news that is being published, the Department of Immigration distributed a circular that prohibits the delivery of entry visas for “tourists” to Dubai to the following countries, and immediately: Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, Kenya, Tunisia, Turkey, and Iran, until further notice.

In addition, the list of exceptions was issued that included the following: “People over 60 years of age, traveling as a family, holders of residence visas in other countries.”

Lebanese who have valid UAE visas are reported to still be able to travel from Lebanon to Dubai.
