Recently, allegations have increased that social networking sites contribute to the spread of hate and racism, prompting several celebrities to close their accounts to denounce this policy.

“The misinformation that spreads on social media has a dangerous effect on our elections and undermines our democracy,” Kardashian said in a tweet.
Kardashian has joined the “Stop Hate for Profit” campaign that is pressuring Facebook to remove posts that are full of hate speech.
Campaign “Stop Hate for Profit” campaign launched by human rights defenders to pressure social media companies. Participants will freeze their accounts on all social media sites on Wednesday for a period of 24 hours.
Thousands of companies and human rights organizations from around the world are participating in the campaign, as well as a group of world-famous people, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Sacha Baron Cohen, Jennifer Lawrence and Katy Perry.
Campaign coordinators stressed that social media companies are not doing enough to stop the spread of hate speech and misinformation on their platforms, and the campaign focused on Facebook and all of its affiliated platforms, such as Instagram and WhatsApp.
