White House spokeswoman Jane Saki said Thursday that the United States is discussing a series of measures against Saudi Arabia, in the context of the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

In response to a question about whether the US administration will impose sanctions against Saudi Arabia, Sacchi said the US administration “is a spectrum of measures on the table.”

Saki confirmed during his daily press conference that US President Joe Biden will make a phone call with the Saudi monarch, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, very soon.

A US administration official told Al-Hurra that the release of the report of Khashoggi’s murder could be postponed until Friday.

Notably, Biden confirmed, on Wednesday, that he read the report relating to the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi at his country’s consulate in Istanbul, Turkey, in 2018.

The Biden administration is expected to release an unclassified copy of a report prepared on the Khashoggi’s murder.

US State Department spokesman Ned Price described Khashoggi’s assassination as a “gruesome crime” as part of his speech on the forthcoming release of the US intelligence report in this regard.

Price said in his daily press release on Wednesday that the US administration “stands ready to deliver an unclassified report on his death in full transparency to Congress, in accordance with the law.”

Khashoggi, who resided in the United States and wrote for the Washington Post, was assassinated in 2018 inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, and is believed to have been dismembered after his death.

The CIA, according to US media, directly linked the crime to the Saudi crown prince, Mohammed bin Salman, who in turn denied having a personal connection to the matter.
