British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said he is in good health after coming into contact with a person with Covid-19 disease, but will lead the government through the Zoom app and isolate himself for two weeks in Downing Street.
Johnson’s latest issue with Covid comes after a tumultuous week in which his top adviser, Dominic Cummings, was ousted after a dispute with a rival faction led by his fiancée and his new spokesperson.
From an apartment overlooking Downing Street, Johnson will have to fight against the worst outbreak of Covid-19 in Europe and have the necessary diplomacy to reach a commercial agreement in the framework of Brexit in a few days.
Johnson said in a tweet: “I feel good … my body is full of antibodies.”
Johnson, 56, added: “Of course, there is a lot to be said through Zoom and other electronic media.”
On Sunday, Johnson announced that the National Health Service Detection and Tracking Unit had asked him to isolate himself for two weeks after House of Commons Representative Lee Anderson, who attended a 35-minute meeting with he on Thursday, tested positive for coronavirus.
When Johnson fell ill with Covid-19 in March, he was “in denial of the disease” but ended up wearing an oxygen mask in an intensive care unit and was absent from work for almost a month.
