In a precedent, the first of its kind, the first commercial flight of an Israeli airline took off on Tuesday from Ben Gurion Airport to Dubai Airport.
The Hebrew radio indicated that the plane of the private company “Israir” will carry 180 passengers, indicating that 50 thousand Israelis are expected to arrive in the Emirates this month.
The Israeli plane is expected to fly over Saudi airspace, after the Trump administration managed to persuade Saudi authorities not to back down from their earlier commitment to allow Israeli Gulf-bound civil aviation to fly into Saudi airspace.
The media varied in identifying the US authorities who intervened with Riyadh to persuade him to back down on his decision not to allow Israeli planes to fly over Saudi airspace.
