A missile attack on an oil refinery in the Baiji area of Salah al-Din governorate in northern Iraq, launched by the terrorist organization ISIS, sparking a major fire.
Two officials at a small oil refinery in northern Iraq said a missile hit it, causing a fire and minor damage.
Refinery officials and local officials said that “firefighters are still trying to contain the fire that broke out after the missile hit a fuel storage tank inside the Al-Siniya refinery.”
There were no reports of deaths or injuries at the refinery, which is located near the Baiji Refinery, Iraq’s largest oil refinery and located in the northern Salah al-Din governorate.
An Iraqi military source told “Iram News”: “The terrorist organization ISIS launched an attack on the Al-Sinaiyah refinery, with more than 6 missiles, the type of which is not yet known, 5 of which fell outside the refinery, while one fell into it. “
The source indicated that “the missile, which fell on the Chinese refinery, caused a fire in one of the tubes inside the refinery, while the civil defense teams tried to control the fire, to prevent its rapid transmission, due to the presence of highly flammable and explosive materials within the refinery. “
