The head of the interim government, Hassan Diab, indicated that if the judicial investigator in the port case, Judge Fadi Sawan, has something against me, he should send it to Parliament, and things are on their way while I refer to the constitution. He added: “I am the first to open the door to Judge Sawan, and I am fighting corruption from the first path. Is it because I did not go to the port that I became the corrupt one?” He added: “I am referring to the constitution regarding Sawan’s accusations, and article 70 regulates this matter. I am the first prime minister and it seems that the last president opens my door to Sawan.”
In a talk with journalists, Diab pointed out that during the era of my government, 20 meetings of the Supreme Defense Council were held, and no one raised the hand of those who knew of their presence to inform us that there are 2,700 tons of nitrates in the port, dangerous. He asked, “Is it reasonable that there is no judge who has been sued, and I don’t think so by chance? There are unnatural things that have happened, and I don’t know if they were considered.”
He noted that “we heard from the governor of the Central Bank of Lebanon, Riad Salameh, that there were two billion before reaching the reserves, although he did not inform me directly of the number, and with the adoption of the rationalization, the amount is enough for us six months. ” And he highlighted, “his refusal to lift the subsidy and that it only be directed to the most needy.” He added: “We are very late with the solution and I will not call cabinet sessions because this is against the constitution.”
He explained that the airport closure is an unnecessary matter at this stage, and the general closure if necessary will be decided next week after the evaluation of the technical committee.
