This statement came days after the Governor of Ahwaz Governor Ghulam Reza Shariati warned of a 200% increase in the number of epidemic patients in the governorate within a month. He confirmed in an interview during an interview with government television last Sunday that the number of people injured in hospitals increased by 60%, not to mention a precise figure for the total number of injuries and deaths in the province.
According to some press reports in the local media, in recent days there have been an average of 200 new cases per day in the governorate.
Simultaneously, a spokesman for the Iranian Health Ministry, Kyanosh Jahanpour, announced Thursday that “1808 people were confirmed to have been infected in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 114,533.”
He also mentioned 71 deaths in the last 24 hours, with a total of 6,854 deaths in one of the countries most affected by the epidemic.
