Iran announced the end of the international embargo on its weapons as of Sunday, emphasizing that it “sees no place for weapons of mass destruction in its defense strategy.”
“The lifting of the arms embargo will allow Iran to import and export arms and conduct related financial transactions in accordance with its defense policies,” Iran’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement issued Sunday night.

The ministry stated that “the end of the arms embargo on Iran is done automatically and does not require a declaration or a new resolution from the UN Security Council.”
He noted that “Iran can, as of today, secure any weapon or equipment it requires from any source, without legal restrictions and depending on defense needs.”

Iran’s Foreign Ministry stated: “We will not recognize the imposition of financial, economic or energy restrictions and weapons.”
The ministry clarified, however, that “Iran depends on itself in defense and does not see the need to buy arms because it hopes to lift the arms embargo.”

The ministry stressed that “Iran was able to secure its defense needs in the past and will continue with its policy.” He added: “There is no place for unconventional weapons and weapons of mass destruction in Iran’s defense strategy.”

He also added that “there is no place for the random importation of conventional weapons in Iran’s defense policy.”

She said: “Iran did not start any war in contemporary history despite differences and its supremacy in power.”

Iran’s Foreign Ministry indicated that “United Nations member states are obliged to enact their laws and regulations with the decision to lift the arms embargo on Iran despite Washington’s efforts to undermine Tehran’s interests in the agreement “.

She said: “The United States should abandon its destructive approach to Resolution 2231,” adding: “Washington must return to full compliance with its obligations under the United Nations Charter, stop acts that violate international law, ignore international order and avoid instigating instability in West Asia. “

In 2015, Iran signed an agreement with the United States, Russia, China, Great Britain, France and Germany to resolve the Iranian nuclear program, which provides for the lifting of international sanctions on Tehran and the abolition of the embargo on its weapons within a period of 5 years.
