A large number of users in various Lebanese regions complained about the interruption of Internet services. Sources from the Communications Ministry confirmed to Al-Nahar that “the technical breakdown is affecting the Internet around the world, and several countries were affected by it, including Lebanon.”
He added: “We are working to restore service in Lebanon, including” Touch “,” Alpha “and some Internet service companies.”
An-Nahar’s correspondent in Akkar reported that residents in different towns and cities of Akkar found it very difficult to access or use the Internet networks provided by the fixed line DSL network or those provided by the MTC and ALFA cellular networks , and even with many private networks. Which distributes the Internet service to its subscribers.
The issue has been the same for the inhabitants of the south, the Bekaa and other areas, where slow or interrupted internet services have affected many works that depend on the internet.
Salloum Al-Dahdah, a computer and communications engineer, stated that the current Internet disruption is global at Century Link Company, which is a company that distributes the Internet to countries and Lebanon is one of them. “It affects us more than others because 80% of our Internet capacity is purchased from this company and -20% from other companies.” So there are still some applications in place, but most of them have stopped, including Twitter
And this holiday started at the company at one o’clock five minutes Beirut time, and stopped services in many countries. So far, the company’s engineers are still trying to fix the malfunction, but we don’t know how long it will be.
