The first of these decisions, according to those close to Biden’s campaign, is related to a return to the Paris climate agreement, and will nullify the departure of President Trump from the World Health Organization.
Biden will also lift the travel ban on some countries and reinstate the program that allows “dreamers”, who came to the United States illegally as children, to stay in the country, according to people familiar with the plans.
Biden’s top advisers have spent months working quietly on how best to implement his agenda, as hundreds of transition officials prepare to work in various federal agencies.
And they, according to the newspaper, compiled evidence that helps Biden guide his decisions and fulfill the promises he made during his election campaign.
CNN had quoted two informed sources as saying Biden will form a 12-person task force on Monday to tackle the Corona virus pandemic.
According to the US station report, the team will be led by former Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, former Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration David Kessler and Dr. Marcela Nunez Smith of Yale University.
The remaining members of the task force will be announced Monday.
People close to Biden say he may have to rely on executive action to reorient federal agencies and regulations, and take a different stance on the world stage, given the challenge he may face in Congress to push through important legislation.
