Women of great influence have broken the dominance of men in many important positions, and have made their mark on the world, to become Forbes magazine’s list of the 100 most powerful women in the world.
Angela Merkel, the German Chancellor, continues to top the Forbes list, which includes politicians, economists, parliamentarians and businessmen, whose names have emerged, during the year 2020.
This year’s new female leaders also include US Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, who is also considered one of the most prominent elected women who have a significant role in global politics on a list of influential people in a third of global gross product.
“Forbes” notes that “these women will play a strong and decisive role in determining what the post-epidemic world will be like, which also needs greater equity to provide opportunities for women and close the gender gap.”
