On Friday, Trump was transferred to the Walter Reed Military Medical Center, where he is being treated for Covid-19 “by some 7,000 employees, including some of the nation’s top doctors.”

“The wing is specially equipped with protective devices and communications equipment to support the president,” says Marine Corps Major General Connie Mariano, who was the physician to former Presidents George HW Bush and Bill Clinton and was director of the White House Medical Unit.
The White House had said that Trump would “work” from the presidential suite during his stay “for a few days,” but many hope that the president’s hospitalization means that his health condition is much worse than official statements announce.

Walter Reed Hospital considers itself a “national medical center,” the symbol of military medical care in the United States, and its staff of 7,100 works in more than 100 clinics and specialties.
The hospital has set up a special wing for visitors from the highest positions, since it caters to the leaders of the nation, and the president and vice president generally undergo treatment in the medical evaluation and treatment unit, which is a private unit, safe and separate from other hospital rooms.

According to the newspaper, Trump will continue to fulfill his presidential duties from a glass-lit dining room, an office steps from the hospital bed and rooms equipped with sofas to receive visitors, in addition to all the technologies and security measures.
The hospital has a reputation as the best military surgical hospital of its kind, and is the facility that saved the life of former President Ronald Reagan after his assassination attempt in 1985.

The hospital is located approximately 15 kilometers from the White House and has a total capacity of 244 beds and 50 intensive care units. It also contains 165 “smart rooms”, equipped with communication devices, audiovisual and wireless capabilities, as well as entertainment facilities.
The hospital also has a checkered past, having been embroiled in a negligence scandal that resulted in the deaths of many soldiers who were treated there in 2007, according to the newspaper.
