A survey by the American Pew Research Center revealed that the percentage of those who intend to receive the emerging coronavirus vaccine, or who have actually received it, has risen to 69 percent.
The center called the latest figure a “big increase” from the previous percentage recorded last November, which at the time was no more than 60 percent.
In the survey details, 19 percent of American adults said they had already received at least one dose of the vaccine and 50 percent said they planned to receive it.
In the Pew report, it is worth noting that up to 61 percent of black Americans confirmed that they planned to receive the vaccine, “a sharp increase” since November, when their approval rating did not exceed 42 percent.
Regarding the group of seniors over 65, 41 percent said they had already received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 44 percent confirmed that they planned to get it.
According to the center, people with lower incomes are still less likely to receive the vaccine than those with higher incomes.
And 14 percent of low-income people said they would like to get the vaccine, while 20 percent of middle-income people agreed, compared to 27 percent of high-income people.
In a gender comparison, 66 percent of the women surveyed expressed support for receiving the vaccine, compared with 72 percent of the men who supported it.
The poll showed a large gap between those belonging to the two main parties in the United States, as the percentage of Democrats in favor of receiving the vaccine reached 83 percent, while the percentage of Republicans who agreed with the issue did not. exceeded 56 percent.
The center says the gap between supporters of the two parties is wider today than it was in 2020.
