The Head of the Permanent Mission of Lebanon to the United Nations in New York, Amal Mudallali, sent a letter to the President of the Security Council, explaining that “In accordance with the instructions of the Lebanese government, we present below the response to two letters addressed to from the permanent representative of Israel to the United Nations to the president of the Security Council on October 2, November 1 and 16, 2020 ”.

He explained that “the media tour that was organized on September 29, 2020, in warehouses of a residential neighborhood in the Jnah area, demonstrated the invalidity of the Israeli claims that they contain weapons belonging to Hezbollah. In this context, the seriousness of the ongoing Israeli complaints about the existence of weapons depots in residential areas is evident, as they aim to justify any future hostile Israeli action that may target Lebanese territories and civilians in Lebanon. .

In the letter, he stated: “There is no truth to the Israeli allegations that Hezbollah initiated an attack from the north of the Blue Line on 7/27/2020 and 8/25/2020, especially since the Secretary-General’s 44th report on the implementation of Resolution 1701 mentions in paragraph 2 of the same that UNIFIL monitored the launch of 50 projectiles from south to north of the Blue Line on 7/27/2020, without any movement, attack or attempt to cross from the north of the Blue Line.

In paragraph 3 thereof, it is mentioned that UNIFIL personnel heard two shots in the vicinity of Hula, without having confirmed that the origin of the first two shots was from the north of the Blue Line and without detecting any movement or aggression by from the north of the Blue Line to the south of the line. In this context, it should be noted that the Israeli claim that it responded to an attack on the Lebanese side is inconsistent and based on unproven and false facts.
