The mayor of Amchit, Dr. Antoine Issa, announced in a statement that the number of people infected by Coronavirus in the town has reached fifty.
Issa emphasized “the need to comply with closures, preventive measures and home quarantine, so as not to be dragged into a dangerous trend similar to what happened in Italy and Spain, especially since the capacity of hospitals in Lebanon is decreasing” .
He explained that after contacting the Ministry of the Interior, it was confirmed that no one from the town would not leave the town to work in compliance with the closure decision.
It should be noted that a team from the Ministry of Health carried out this afternoon, in cooperation with the municipality and in the presence of the judicial doctor Dr. Wissam Saadeh and the mayor of the municipality, random PCR tests on dozens of citizens in the external parking lot of the Mar Mikhael Hospital who were not infected with the virus or who had contact with them.
