In this point. Al-Majzoub considered that the crisis in which we live is mainly healthy, highlighting the completion of blended learning that balances the health dimension and the social dimension.

Parents are not required

Regarding the Lebanese fear that the Corona epidemic will affect schools, and the demands of parent committees in private schools to postpone the return of students until the end of the current year, in exchange for the demand of the parents of students to open schools, after they experienced the disadvantages of distance education for the past two weeks. Al-Majzoub stressed that parents are not required to send their children to school this semester of the school year. The Ministry of Education will wait for the evaluation of the state of health to make the appropriate decisions in the second semester.

Understand parents
Al-Majzoub explained that in the first part of the school year, schools will cooperate with parents who do not want to send their children to school, to keep up with distance learning. If a school in the first semester cannot guarantee distance learning for students whose parents do not want to send them, the Ministry of Education will cooperate with the school in question to find a suitable solution. Nobody forces parents to send their children.

Al-Majzoub said the Ministry of Education is rebelling against the circumstances. And the Lebanese should not lose the education battle because we will have lost Lebanon, the message. He added that he understood parents and appreciated their concern for their children’s health and practical achievements. And he adds: But we must pay attention to the dimension of health. We, in the Ministry of Education, have health references that take all the dimensions of the Corona pandemic. He said: I hope that parents and members of educational institutions are observers of themselves. Any incomplete plan will affect education and the health sector. The message is “We must help.”

Breeding preparations
He confirmed that the Ministry of Education will make field visits to schools and that the Ministry’s operations room will follow up on Corona cases in schools, in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of the Interior. You will announce Corona cases at each school through a platform that you will establish, based on your belief in transparency.

On the preparations of the Ministry of Education, Al-Majzoub emphasized that the ministry was able to secure a training management program for distance learning for free, to complete blended learning. The exercises were launched on an experimental basis at the Research and Development Center, with the support of the Directorate of Orientation and Orientation of the Ministry of Education.

School is good for your health
For his part, the Minister of Health affirmed that his ministry will accompany the Ministry of Education in the reopening of schools. He noted that the educational plan addresses many of the concerns of parents.
Hassan said: Parents of children with chronic illnesses should not take the risk of sending them to school. He revealed that the number of injured among those under 10 years of age has not exceeded 3% since the start of the pandemic, while the percentage among those under 19 years of age has reached around 9%. Two deaths from chronic diseases were recorded.

Hassan emphasized that the disadvantages of children staying home outweigh the disadvantages of going to school. And international health institutions do not recommend closing schools. But taking preventive measures such as hygiene, muzzling and spacing, and the fourth most important element in school is ventilation.
He emphasized that capabilities are available to follow up on suspected cases. And all the resources of the Ministry of Health will be used for that purpose.
