After immediate coordination between the aforementioned division and the Office for the Fight against Information Crimes and Protection of Intellectual Property of the Judicial Police Unit, and as a result of the follow-up, the complainant was heard, who stated that he had communicated to through the application “WhatsApp” with an unknown person – gay people – for entertainment purposes, so he sent him his own photos, to present The latter notified his threat to publish it in case the plaintiff did not send him the amount 500 thousand Lebanese pounds. to. Through a money transfer company, he responded to his request, but the blackmailer kept asking for more and asked to send another similar amount.

And through investigations and inquiries, a patrol from the aforementioned office managed to stop him and control his mobile device.

During interrogation, he confessed to what was attributed to him, in addition to blackmailing other people in Lebanon and abroad.

The detainee, along with the seized telephone, deposited with the competent court, based on his indication.

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces and Bodies asked citizens not to photograph themselves or be photographed inappropriately by video, under any circumstances and under the pressure exerted on them, so that they do not fall victims and be exploited by others , and do not hesitate to report these cases immediately “.
