The Minister of Public Health of the interim government, Dr. Hamad Hassan, announced that “the vaccination campaign has shown, a week after its launch, that it is being carried out in a good and systematic way, despite some violations that rapidly are addressed in some centers. “

He added: “The success rate on the national registry platform is quickly raised and adjusted according to need, such as rounding the dates of people who directly follow their appointments, those who may miss attendance for vaccination, which will ensure that you don’t miss the dose. “

In an interview with the Al-Mayadeen channel, on the occasion of the passage of a year since the outbreak of the Corona virus, Hassan stressed that “the obstacles we are going through in the face of the pandemic were very difficult, especially the epidemic explosion.” which resulted from the indulgence of the holidays and the previous repercussions of the port explosion. “He stressed that” the vaccine provided an additional effective factor to face the epidemic in addition to preventive behavior.

He noted that “in the next period, multiple types of vaccines will be available, and they will be free for the Lebanese,” highlighting the adoption of the principles of justice and transparency. He announced that “Lebanon will receive 250 thousand Pfizer vaccines by the end of March, provided that shipments continue until reaching the quantity of two million one hundred thousand vaccines.”

He revealed that “Lebanon started quick talks with the company to get more of this vaccine, the research of which has proven to be effective.”

He continued: “The Ministry of Health had booked two million seven hundred and fifty thousand doses with the Kovacs platform, and finally one and a half million vaccines were signed from AstraZeneca. As for the Russian vaccine and contrary to what is rumored, we went to the embassy at the beginning of last September with a letter to obtain the vaccine and to secure it. “A gift and negotiations continue so far, and the ministry has also started studying China’s vaccine archive after completing the documents.”

He explained that “importing the Russian vaccine through the Ministry of Public Health guarantees sensitive shipping conditions in temperatures below 18 degrees, or through a tripartite agreement that ensures more vaccines for community initiatives.”

The Minister of Health was surprised by the “continued confusion in the media about the performance of the Ministry of Public Health as a rumor that the Pfizer vaccine would not be delivered to Lebanon for certain political reasons, or that the Ministry of Health was discretionary in the distribution of supplies and equipment to hospitals and other misinformation … “

Noting that “whoever disseminates this news does not tire of confirming its authenticity or obtaining a convincing confrontational argument,” he stressed that “the ministry responds to repeated fabrications by adhering to the plans drawn up and with serious field action demonstrates that its effects positives are reflected in all Lebanese, as reality has shown that the Pfizer vaccine arrived in Lebanon on the announced dates, and the kit was distributed to all hospitals in all regions without discrimination, and that international institutions treat with confidence and effectiveness with the Ministry despite some attempts to damage this relationship.

Hassan noted that “one year after the pandemic, the outlook for the public health sector seems different from what was mentioned above. This sector has been supported in an organized, systematic and unprecedented way in terms of equipping government hospitals with intensive care rooms with modern and advanced equipment and equipment. These hospital institutions have earned the trust of the Lebanese in various ways. His classes and his classes “.
