The binding parliamentary consultations to elect a new head of the Lebanese government ended when Hariri obtained the required majority of votes that would allow him to start the composition process.

Hariri was appointed in today’s binding parliamentary consultations at the Baabda Palace, to form the next government, with a total of 65 votes to 53, which did not name anyone.

It should be noted that the interim prime minister, Hassan Diab, had obtained 69 votes in the last consultations.

While the parliamentary bloc “Hezbollah”, in addition to the two largest Christian parties in Lebanon, the “Free Patriotic Movement” led by Gebran Bassil and the “Lebanese Forces” led by Samir Geagea, refused to nominate Hariri to head the government, granted the deputies of the bloc “Development and Liberation” headed by a president The parliament, Nabih Berri, voted in favor of Hariri to take charge of the formation of a new government in the country.
