Google Maps launches an update that makes it a “community” application

The American company “Google” revealed that it had released an update for the famous application “Google Maps”, which transforms it from a service application for geographic locations to a community application that provides information.

The specialized technical site “Engadget” indicated that the new update will allow the application “Google Maps” to show a summary of the news and changes that occur in the surrounding community.

The application will present the latest news in the city and the changes that occur, whether political, economic or service, such as changes in the opening hours of restaurants, for example, or changes in services. This new feature of the “Google Maps” application will be located under the “Explore” icon.

The news feed on “Google Maps” will also contain the latest comments, photos, and posts related to the person’s surrounding area.

In addition, if you follow a nearby store or restaurant, you will receive updates from them through the feed, about the most important news they are offering, etc.

And this new feature is currently being tested on a limited scale, but Google has committed to providing it to all Google Maps users on Android and iOS devices within days.
