The head of the registration department of the Interior Ministry’s Traffic Management Authority, Walid Darwish, announced that there is a bill that includes exemptions for mechanical fees, indicating that the demand for car registration remains acceptable.
Darwish confirmed that “a bill has been studied in the Defense and Interior Committee to forgive mechanics’ fees.”
In an interview on Voice of Lebanon Radio 100.5, he said that whoever paid in 2020 will be exempt from the 2021 fees, and mechanical inspection will remain mandatory to pay the fees until the operating company is arrested.
