The General Directorate of the Personal State issued the following statement:

In this context, we have seen some of the “Jahzbah” fabricate rumors, with the news that “the transactions of souls have been transferred from Tripoli to Batroun for fear of being damaged”.
Regarding this situation, it is important that the General Directorate of Personal Status clarifies the following:
– The request to transfer Tripoli soul transactions from 2018 to 2020 is correct, but not to Batroun, but to the central administration of the Directorate General in Beirut, where these documents are photographed via microfilm, and it arrives within a routine legal procedure, which has already been implemented in cities and other towns in the Lebanese regions (for example, but not limited to: Baalbek, Barja, Bint Jbeil …), according to an official request from the Director General of The Statute Personnel, accompanied by security forces from the Internal Security Forces, for a short period of time so that these transactions can be photographed and kept in the file. The file is similar to the procedure followed in previous years.
– The unfortunate events in Tripoli demonstrated the correctness of this procedure, since it was possible that thousands of Tripoli would lose important basic documents in their daily lives, if the transactions had suffered some damage without having another copy of them, and this Directorate General would have he was faced with a real dilemma in terms of completing his transactions and facilitating his affairs.
The General Directorate of Personal Status, confirming that it continues to carry out its functions in accordance with the provisions of the laws and regulations in force, and in a manner that serves the interests of citizens in all Lebanese regions, will not wait for those who spread rumors and Any appreciation or gratitude contributes to sow discord, and is satisfied with the citizen’s assessment of it and its performance and work.
