Geagea refuses to participate with the “ruling trio” in the appointment of Hariri

The head of the Lebanese Forces party, Samir Geagea, justified his failure to nominate President Saad Hariri to form the future Lebanese government, in parliamentary consultations to appoint the designated prime minister tomorrow, to “our decision not to participate in any joint initiative with the ruling trio “, namely Hezbollah and” The Free Patriotic Movement and the Amal Movement, after a controversy arose over the abstention of the “Forces” party from appointing Hariri, and its position similar to that of the “Free Patriotic Movement” , who decided his position by not naming anyone.
Tomorrow, Thursday, 120 deputies will participate in binding parliamentary consultations to appoint a new prime minister. The Movement of the Future, the Progressive Socialist Party and the Amal Movement are pushing for Hariri’s nomination, along with other parliamentary blocs like the “Marada” and the “Independent Center” and independent Christian deputies, which is supposed to give Hariri a majority in the nomenclature that requires half the number of representatives plus one, which qualifies it to be assigned to form the government.
Following the announced position of the “forces” not to name Hariri, opponents of the “forces” spoke of five assumptions that push Geagea to make this decision, which he denied in a video communicated to him on his personal Facebook page. , where he denied the hypothesis that his party refused to appoint Hariri, because he had made a decision not to lend the latter any political decision without obtaining a promise from him regarding the next presidential elections. Geagea also denied the premise of “canceling Saad Hariri” and “the Movement of the Future”, or that he adopts these positions for populist reasons, or that the position is a matter of political spite, and emphasized that “which led us not to naming Prime Minister Hariri is our lack of belief that it is possible to get Nowhere with this ruling trio. “

Geagea said: “The government that was supposed to be presented is a government of real independents,” explaining in this context that “we are not with the independents theory at all, we are a political party in the end, but based on the triangular control of power today, can not be “. On the other hand, a member of the “Free Patriotic Movement”, Edgar Trabelsi, affirmed that “the bloc will not name anyone in the binding parliamentary consultations on Thursday”, hoping that the formation process will not be easy.
