Some people try to portray what is happening regarding the formation of the government as if it was targeting the Shiites, to the point that some of them said: “We will not accept the abolition of a sect with its mother and father.
This atmosphere is far from the reality of the situation, because nobody wants to target the Shiites in Lebanon, because the Shiites are a historical and essential component in this country, and nobody can or wants to cancel a sect with their mother and father, which is not on anyone’s mind and we will not accept something like that.
But what we want is to get out of the tragedy that we have been suffering for months or even years, and the main reason for this tragedy is the quotas that were given at the executive power level, which was causing the emergence of mini-states within the state, the paralysis of government and institutions, and the corruption that reigned and continued in the heart of the state, until it arrived. The French initiative to present a different bailout proposal: a government without quotas in the first place, and a government that does not appoint its members to the ruling blocs.
On this basis alone, we support the full rotation of sects and parties, and we totally reject that the ruling blocs appoint ministers in the government.
On the occasion, Shiite citizens are the most affected by the previous quota system and by the allocation of parties and sects for certain portfolios.
