Paris urged Tehran to take a constructive stance and stop violating its obligations under the nuclear deal during upcoming talks on the 2015 deal in Vienna.

According to a statement from the French Foreign Ministry, Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian welcomed, during a call with his Iranian counterpart, Mohammad Javad Zarif, “the new round of talks to be held in Vienna on Tuesday on the Iranian nuclear file, and encouraged Iran to take a “constructive” position during the upcoming talks.

Le Drian considered that “the talks should make it possible in the coming weeks to determine the necessary steps for a full return to respect for the nuclear agreement”, and asked Iran to “refrain from any further breach of its nuclear commitments, which would hamper the dynamic “. of the talks.

On Saturday, Iran rejected Washington’s proposal to gradually lift its sanctions, stressing that the only condition to stop reducing its nuclear obligations is the complete lifting of sanctions.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh told Iranian Press TV: “As we have made clear many times, there is no step-by-step plan, and the final political decision for Tehran is to lift all US sanctions.”
