The people of Qab Elias lived in a state of panic after the Ministry of Health reported yesterday that 19 cases of Coronavirus were registered, but today the tests were repeated in special laboratories, and the results were negative.

The mayor of Qab Elias – Wadi Al-Delam, Jihad Al-Muallem, confirmed at a press conference that the new results were negative, saying: “Once again, the results of the corona tests issued by the Ministry of Health fall into the random and forbidden fallacies, the last of which is the test results at Qeb Elias. “

He added: “It was found that the positive results that were signed by the Ministry of Health arrived today and were later returned negative, as indicated by the results of the tests issued by the Laboratory of the American University and Fattoush in Zahle.”

Al-Moallem considered that the Minister of Health should give a clear and convincing explanation for these false results and officially apologize for the horror caused by these false results.

The Epidemiological Surveillance Unit of the Ministry of Public Health issued a report on the examinations that were carried out in the city of Qab Elias. She explained the following:

First: The Ministry samples were collected on August 24, and most of them belong to contacts with previously diagnosed positive cases. And they were examined in the laboratories of the Hariri Government University Hospital, which adopts the WHO examination methodology.

Second: the approved test is the sars2 bgi gene, which is known to be specific to Covid-19.

Third: The results showed a ct rate that ranged from 27 to 40. Most of them were above 35, which means that the infection may be old or must be repeated after 48 hours to diagnose the disease.

Fourth: In the event that the injured person undergoes another examination a few days later, negative results may appear due to the time interval between the two samples, especially for those who are in the process of recovery.

The Ministry of Public Health wanted citizens to deal with these cases (positive light) on the basis that the result is positive until proven otherwise, taking all preventive and protective measures as a precautionary method.
