Sharif: Iran had thwarted several attempts to assassinate Fakhrizadeh over a period of 21 years (Anatolia)

Sharif did not reveal the method of assassinating Fakhri Zadeh on November 27 near the capital, Tehran, by using satellites. However, the Fars news agency previously reported that the van parked by the road and used in the murder carried an automatic weapon. Fakhri Zadeh was returning in the morning, accompanied by his wife, from the city of Rustam Clay in Mazandaran governorate in northern Iran to Tehran, before he was killed in the city of Absard, 45 kilometers east of the capital.
Iranian authorities officially accused the Israeli occupation of being behind the assassination, along with other allegations that the United States and Saudi Arabia cooperated with him and the opposition organization “Mujahideen Khalq”, of participating in the execution.
Fakhrizadeh was 59 years old, the foremost Iranian scientist in nuclear, defense and missile research, and a professor of nuclear physics at the Imam Hussein University of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, east of Tehran.
Fakhri Zadeh also worked as deputy to Iranian Defense Minister Amir Hatami and head of the Ministry’s Research and Innovation Organization, according to the minister’s own statements. However, Fakhri Zadeh’s scientific reputation was greater than Fakhri Zadeh’s official status as Deputy Defense Minister, as Western intelligence reports considered him to be “Founder of the Iranian nuclear program” and “director of the Iranian military nuclear program” .
