Fahmy reveals the number of people infected with “Corona” in all prisons

The Minister of the Interior and Municipalities in the interim government, Brigadier General Mohamed Fahmy, assured that the situation in the Roumieh prison and other prisons after the Corona outbreak is still under control and there is no need for people to panic, noting that 843 examinations were carried out, according to which it was found that there are 286 wounded in all the prisons. They were quarantined in isolated places, in terms of the number of cases that had to be transferred to the hospital for treatment, they were only 6, 4 in the Dahr Al-Basheq Hospital and two in the Elias Hrawi Government Hospital.

Fahmy confirmed to the Al-Jumhuriya newspaper that “he had sent a letter to the concerned authorities to equip Dahr al-Basheq Hospital and others, in order to receive possible cases of corona among the prisoners, after having fulfilled all our functions in the prevention phase, but our request was not met ”, he praised. With the efforts of the security forces, thanks to which we were able to extend the prevention phase in prisons to 6 months, after which we would probably only last 3 months, noting that “the challenge they now face is the challenge of treatment.”

Fahmy indicated that the security forces took the appropriate measures inside the prison, and the army also took measures outside of it, anticipating the disturbances that could occur, hoping that the prisoners would have wisdom and avoid any slide towards violence because they do not drive to no result.
