Major General Mohamed Al-Sharif, Governor of Alexandria, announced an increase in the level of maximum preparedness and emergency in all executive bodies to deal with unstable weather conditions.
The study was suspended at all Alexandria schools today to allow executive bodies to deal with the effects of bad weather, while the study continues at Alexandria University.
The governor called on citizens to be careful during the current period and not to leave their homes, except in cases of extreme necessity, indicating that the rain wave is accompanied by very strong winds.
Al-Sharif explained that concrete barriers have been placed in hot spots along the Corniche, in order to prevent the exit of high waves, which can reach 4 and a half meters.
According to the warnings of the Meteorological Authority, the country, especially the northern coasts, will witness during the next 72 hours air fluctuations, heavy rains and strong wind activity.
