Three men are accused of creating a “secret room” under the “Grand Central” train station in New York City, according to the British website “Sky News”.
The source said the three men, who work as railroad workers, found a storage room under Route 114 and used it personally away from the managers’ knowledge.
The defendants provided the room, which was described as a cave, with a television, refrigerator, microwave and sofa.
Investigators reported that employees – a wire harness, a carpenter, and an electricity monitor – used the secret bathroom when they were supposed to be working.
One of the witnesses revealed that the three workers were “hanging out, getting drunk and celebrating” in this secret room, knowing that it also violated fire safety requirements, as rescuers would not be able to find her in the emergency.
All three employees have been sanctioned, suspended and will face disciplinary hearings.
