Researchers from Tel Aviv University have concluded that the emerging corona virus can be eliminated efficiently and quickly by using ultraviolet rays (UV-LEDs) at specific frequencies, according to the Israeli newspaper “Gurzlium Post.”

The report quoted study leader Professor Hadas Maman, director of the Environmental Engineering Program at Tel Aviv University School of Mechanical Engineering: “We found that it is very easy to kill the corona by using LEDs that illuminate the light. ultraviolet”.

These lamps only take less than half a minute to destroy more than 99.9 percent of the virus.

The newspaper said this study is the first of its kind in the world. The Journal of Chemistry and Photobiology previously published an article on this topic.

And UV lamps can effectively disinfect the surfaces of the coronavirus.

Maman gave examples of what can be cleaned with X-rays, stating that medical personnel, for example, can use them to disinfect computer keyboards and other surfaces in hospitals.

Experts believe that these lamps can be installed in the ventilation system and air conditioners to sterilize the air circulating in the rooms.

Ultraviolet rays have long been known to have a sterilizing effect, because the rays destroy the genetic makeup of viruses and their ability to reproduce.

The team was able to eliminate the virus by using cheap LED lights that consume little energy and do not contain mercury like some normal UV lamps.

The Corona virus continues to be the subject of multiple investigations around the world, and at the time that vaccination began in some countries of the world, the number of infections has reached more than 79,758,000 people in the world with the virus, of which which at least 50,405,700 people have recovered to this day.

The new Corona virus has killed one million 750 thousand 780 people in the world since the World Health Organization office in China reported its appearance at the end of December 2019.
