Scientists were able to identify the most common weaknesses in corona viruses in a study published by the scientific journal “Sense.”

And 200 scientists and specialized researchers from 14 scientific institutions from six countries participated in the study, who analyzed the SARS coronavirus, the Corona virus that causes the Middle East Syndrome and the emerging corona.

The scientists were able to monitor 300 different proteins in human cells that interact with the Corona virus proteins and determine the extent of the effect of these viruses on the human body.

They also found that there are 20 different times that they interact with the Corona virus, meaning that scientists need a treatment method or intervention to stop this interaction, in order to inhibit the spread of the virus protein within the body.

The scientists relied on analyzing the data of 740 thousand patients who were infected with Coronavirus, since approaches based on biochemistry, protein, genetics and virology were used to determine the proteins and cellular processes of these viruses.

The study indicated that its results need further investigation to determine therapeutic interventions for these viruses, and even to precisely identify people who should undergo clinical trials.

The director of the Institute of Biological Sciences at the University of California, San Francisco, Nevan Krogan, said the study was able to link biological and functional models with clinical results, and provide a model that can be used to conduct research on any disease to identify potential treatments for them.

According to the study, the last two decades have witnessed the appearance of three respiratory syndromes, which were fatal, SARS in 2002, MERS in 2012 and the new Corona in 2019.

The new Corona virus has killed at least 1.2 million people worldwide since the WHO China office reported the outbreak of the disease in late December.
