Clarification from Jamali’s office on his departure to the UAE

The press office of the resigned MP, Dima Jamali, said in a statement that her assumption of the post as dean of the School of Business Administration at the University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates since the beginning of last September came as a result of negotiations with the university administration about three years ago, and had announced a temporary suspension of his duties in the House of Representatives at the beginning. The media office confirmed that she “made the decision to join the educational staff of the University of Sharjah, in the context of her basic job as a university professor, suspending her participation in the House of Representatives because she realized, with regret, that work in this context did not provide the desired result, noting that Representative Jamali did not suspend her assistance to Lebanon to follow up on her duty to who and what she represents, and is following up on the affairs of Tripoli and its people and programs of support that affect the families in struggle and the poorest, in addition to their constant communication and continuous coordination with Prime Minister Saad Hariri and the head of the Future Block MP Bahia Hariri and other colleagues, and with the Tripoli Coordinator in the movement, due to circumstances. The current need demands that we all participate with all our capacity in national work, from the position we are in and the responsibilities we have, professional or not, because national responsibility is above all considerations.

He stressed that “MP Jamali persists in reconciling her national responsibilities with her academic work, and that some offers in this matter will not be beneficial.”
