Corona deaths in the United States rise to 86,000, infections in Brazil rise to more than 203,000, and European experts say a vaccine against the virus could be available within a year.
The United States recorded around 1,800 deaths from the Corona virus in 24 hours and for the second consecutive day, bringing the number of deaths in the country to around 86,000.
The virus has killed more than 300,000 people worldwide since its outbreak last December in China, more than 80% of them in Europe and the United States.
And Brazil registered a sharp increase in infections with the new Corona virus in 13,944 cases, reaching some 203 cases, with a significant increase in victims of the disease with 844 new deaths, as announced by the Brazilian Ministry of Health.
In Mexico, there were 257 new deaths from the emerging coronavirus and 2409 new cases.
These figures come at a time when European experts believed that a vaccine against the virus could be available within a year, in a scenario they considered “optimistic”.
The World Health Organization warned that the new Corona virus “will never disappear” and could become a disease with which humanity will have to learn to live.
“We have a new virus that infects humanity for the first time, making it very difficult to say when it can be defeated,” said Michael Ryan, director of urgent health affairs at the World Health Organization.
