The Democratic candidate for president of the United States, Joe Biden, managed to win the state of Wisconsin, raising the number of his votes in the electoral college to 248 votes.
The Associated Press said Biden won all 10 state votes, after defeating US President Donald Trump, who had managed to win them in the 2016 election.
He claimed that Biden’s victory was announced after election officials in Wisconsin said all outstanding ballots had been counted except for a few hundred in one city and a few ballots mailed.
President Trump’s campaign has called for a recount in Wisconsin, a process that has resulted in little change in state results in history except for a few hundred votes.

Trump’s campaign manager Bill Stebian said the president would formally request a recount in Wisconsin, citing “irregularities in various counties in Wisconsin.”
The state allows a potentially losing candidate to request a recount if the margin is less than 1 percent.
With this, Biden takes a new step in the race for the White House, and now he needs 22 votes just to defeat Trump, who currently has 214 votes.
A presidential candidate needs to obtain 270 electoral votes to ensure victory in the US presidential elections.
