Hariri said that Lebanon’s return to its rightful place on the international community’s map depends on “getting away from our recent past and how Lebanon was governed.”
He said: “We have seen what entrenched interests have brought us: economic devastation, instability, corruption and endless suffering for the people. We need real and final change,” and called for a transitional government to bring about this change, explaining that “this It can only happen if we form a transitional government that does not adhere to a particular religion or group, but is present for all people. “
Regarding his future plans to form a political party to rally his supporters, Hariri said: “I have nothing to announce today, but I hope to do so soon.”
Regarding his economic and political project that he intends to launch and the bases on which it will be based, he revealed that he intends to start with the economy, revealing that he has formed a working group to develop an “integrated economic” program.
Regarding his vision of getting out of the financial and economic crisis and saving Lebanon from bankruptcy, he stated that “what is urgently required now is a criminal investigation at the Banque du Liban, so that we know where the Lebanese money went and Let us punish those who practiced the policy of waste and corruption. No one will be above the law. ”
Regarding Hezbollah’s weapons, Bahaa Hariri emphasized “the need to hand over their weapons to the Lebanese authorities and to implement United Nations resolutions in this regard, especially Resolution 1559 issued in 2004, which emphasized the importance of extending control of the Lebanese government over all Lebanese territory ”. He called for all Lebanese militias to be disbanded and disarmed. “
Regarding the utilitarian relationship that some say links his brother Saad to Hezbollah, he said: “The entire political system that has governed Lebanon since 2005 cooperated with the party.
