The President of the Republic, Michel Aoun Aoun, met this afternoon with the president of the Progressive Socialist Party, Walid Jumblatt, at the Baabda Palace.
Jumblatt confirmed, after the meeting, that “we discussed many issues, and agreed to deal with us and with the team of the President of the Republic in a rational way,” and said: I visited President Aoun on the initiative of a good courier service, to settle the dispute with the Free Patriot.
He added: “I have nothing to do with bilateral or triple alliances, and this issue has to do with my own accounts.” He noted that “I did not seek to change the government and asked for nothing in the citations file, but suggested some names based on their advice.”
Jumblatt said “the old Lebanese economy is over and the services are gone,” noting that “the world after Corona will change,” and said: “We will go to the International Monetary Fund and we will seriously negotiate, and we will benefit from building a productive economy in Lebanon. “
He also added that “there is an amount of $ 500 million to help the poorest families, and we have to take advantage of the mechanism in the Ministry of Social Affairs.”
Jumblatt apologized for not participating in the meeting in Baabda on Wednesday for health reasons, and will send written comments on the plan to the President of the Republic.
