Christensen, a member of the National Liberal Party representing Dawson County, Queensland, launched a petition this week urging the US president to pardon Assange, who faces up to 175 years in prison for posting classified material.

Christensen also appeared on Sky News Australia to present her case. He told the network that Assange “was a target of the Democrats,” noting that his persecution began under the administration of former President Barack Obama.

Christensen said, “I mean Hillary Clinton hates her courage, for exposing her true identity, and she waged war against Assange with the Democrats and the Deep State,” according to her claim, noting that President-elect Joe Biden described Assange as a “high-tech criminal and terrorist.”

Assange is currently in the infamous Belmarsh Prison in the UK, which was home to some of Britain’s most prominent terrorists, awaiting a verdict on his extradition to the United States.
