Attack on Olivia Mann … for “Aleppo”

American actress Olivia Mann is under attack after announcing her choice to play the role of a United Nations journalist in a new film about Syrian refugees. The new drama film, titled Aleppo (Aleppo), signed by Brazilian director David Schuurman, follows the story of a young Syrian refugee and UN journalist who tries to flee Syria in order to survive.

The criticisms are related to the apparent lack of Syrian or Middle Eastern representatives in the next project, while some social media leaders have focused on the role of the United Nations in history.
Man, who previously participated in the X-Men and Predator series, expressed his enthusiasm for playing the role on Twitter, highlighting that the text is one of the “scenarios that have most captivated and broken my heart.”
However, several journalists warned the 40-year-old actress that playing the roles of journalists and workers in the ranks of the United Nations could be “dangerous.” Meanwhile, many of the social media pioneers asked directors who wanted to make films about Syria to cast Syrian actors, noting at the same time that there are many “White Savior” films.

In contrast, Schuurman defended the concept of his tape in a comment on Lehman’s Instagram post, urging people not to jump to conclusions and wait for action to be taken to judge its content. “What most people don’t read or ignore is the fact that the story is also about a young Syrian and his journey,” he added.
