Arrest of two gang members who stole 3 cars from Mount Lebanon – Al-Manar TV website – Lebanon

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces, Public Relations Division, issued the following statement: “In the early morning hours of 5-9-2020, one of the gangs carried out 3 robberies of vehicles targeting the following types:
– “Kia Rio”, dark blue, by Zalka.
– “Kia Picanto”, white, by Jal el Dib.
– A black four-wheel drive Hyundai Creta from Antelias.

As a result of the plan followed by the Information Division of the Internal Security Forces to monitor the movements of car theft gangs, this division had information on the movement of the aforementioned gang members from the governorate of Mount Lebanon to Bekaa, via the Tripoli-Akkar route.

On the same date, and through close surveillance operations, the Division’s patrols were able to detect the stolen cars in the Zouk Al-Haddara – Akkar area, where they placed a strong ambush that resulted in the arrest of two gang members who were aboard the two stolen cars of Jal el Dib and Antelias, and they are:

– kh. METER. (Born 1996, Lebanese)
– a. to. (Born 1991, Lebanese)

The force also managed to control the third car, a dark blue “Kia Rio”, which was hidden in the town of Deir Dalom.

With their interrogations, they confessed what was attributed to them, and that they had participated in the three car theft operations, and were about to transfer them to Hermel, in exchange for an amount of 300,000 Lebanese pounds for each stolen car.

They also admitted that they had transferred two stolen cars from the town of Antelias on 3-9-2020 to Hermel.

The seized cars were turned over to their owners, and the legal requirements were applied to the detainees, and they were deposited by the competent authority, based on a judicial order, and work continues to arrest the rest of the gang.
