On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations, President Michel Aoun stated that Lebanon, which is one of the 50 countries that participated in the founding of the United Nations and contributed to the drafting and drafting of the Charter of Human Rights, took advantage of it as an opportunity to reaffirm its attachment to the noble principles and charter of the United Nations and the noble objectives to which it aspires.

He said: The statement that we all agreed to issue on this occasion dealt with the aspirations and achievements of the United Nations and some disappointments of dreams and hopes that were not fulfilled, which requires working to introduce reforms in the operation of this international institution and multiplying efforts to help countries in need. There is no doubt that Lebanon, during the crises that afflicted it, found in the United Nations a factor in support of stability through “UNIFIL” and a partner in development through its operational bodies.

He went on to say: I commend the support provided by the United Nations and countries in addressing the enormous repercussions of the Beirut bombing and recovering from the financial and economic crisis. I call on the world to help us ensure the safe return of displaced Syrians to their homes, because Lebanon, suffering the brunt of the unprecedented crises that overwhelm it, will no longer be able to host the largest number of refugees in the world. world in relation to population. Despite all the suffering, Lebanon, which participated in the founding of the United Nations and made the decision to participate in the peacekeeping forces, and which launched an initiative to establish a “human academy for meeting and dialogue “and that it had the support of the United Nations, confirms that the difficulties will not deter it from continuing to play its positive role at the international level.
