Geagea, in an interview via mtv, considered that “the solution cannot come with a change of government, given that in the face of the current parliamentary majority, no government will be able to do anything, since this majority will not let it work as required, and the evidence is that Everyone sees how to deal with the issue of government formation, so that a few days later three months have passed since Prime Minister Saad Hariri was appointed without being able to form a government, and the reason is that the parliamentary majority in the country is as is Today, and the House of Representatives is formed the way it is formed Today. “
Geagea added: “Prime Minister Hariri is fully aware of what he wants, which is to form a government of independent specialists, but he has not yet been able to form a government due to the presence of a parliamentary majority with different ideas. In the end, or no government will be formed and this means that there will be no solution to the crisis or the government. It will be formed from the existing parliamentary majority, so this also means that there will not be a solution to the crisis either, as it will be in the form of the government of Prime Minister Hassan Diab.
Geagea explained that “some have come to ‘burn’ the early parliamentary elections by introducing a new electoral law, while the current law is new in itself, so it is illogical to raise the issue of changing the law every hour and minute, and it is not allowed to change the law. In each election, the most important thing is that, in the midst of the problems that we live, given that half of the Lebanese population is below the poverty line, we are not allowed, in this circumstance, to raise the question of change the electoral law because, of course, this is a mistake. “
Geagea reiterated that, “in the presence of the ruling parliamentary majority and the current ruling group, there is no hope of a solution, since we need to change this majority to reach a true rescue process. This crisis has been circulating for several years, but has turned into a declared crisis since October 17, 2019. ” About a year and two and a half months ago, while the question is, what have the current parliamentary majority and the current ruling group done throughout this period? The answer is nothing, and therefore the real golden equation is not what they are talking about, but as long as this ruling group exists, there is no hope.
Geagea sent a message to the Lebanese woman, saying: “Neither you nor you nor we are desperate. Most of the matter is that we urgently need a change in the management of the country, as it has become clear where the problem lies. and the solution is in the hands of the Lebanese people. “
In response to a question about whether he will visit the President of the Republic to greet him at Christmas and New Years, Geagea said: “I celebrate it as much as the Lebanese celebrate Eid.”
In response to a question about whether there has been any communication with the president, he said: “Unfortunately, no.”
