A woman was brutally murdered in the Colombian city of Corozal in an incident believed to have occurred as a motive for revenge, 6 months after she sparked anger on social media when she posted a video of her decapitating an owl.
Melides Aldana Hirazo, 21, was shot dead in front of her home in the Luis Carlos Jalan neighborhood, according to the British newspaper “Daily Star.”
In a police report, she indicated that Melides was the subject of an armed attack by two armed men, who approached her on a motorcycle, opened fire and hit her with six bullets, according to Sky News.
Immediately after the attack, Melides was taken to hospital, but died from wounds to her left chest, arm and leg.
In addition, the Police did not confirm the motives for the murder of Melides, who was previously the subject of an investigation for animal abuse, and also has a criminal record in drug trafficking.
Melides angered social media users after she posted a video last June that showed her brutally killing an owl.
Subsequently Melides received threats on the Internet, and the Colombian Environment Agency launched an investigation into the video, which it described as a “crime,” accusing the girl of insulting animals.
