An Israeli official plans to visit Manama

Israel’s Foreign Minister Gabi Ashkenazi announced Wednesday that he intends to visit Bahrain’s capital Manama soon to open the Israeli embassy there.

The Hebrew channel “Seven” reported today, Wednesday, that Ashkenazi “confirmed his intention to visit Manama soon to open the Israeli embassy in Bahrain and follow up on the fruitful talks, during a press conference with the Minister of Industry and Tourism of Bahrain, Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani “.

“We are working for a new reality for our region, which has witnessed many conflicts,” Ashkenazi added at the conference held at the headquarters of the Israeli Foreign Ministry in occupied Jerusalem.

For his part, the Bahraini minister welcomed the Israeli foreign minister’s upcoming visit. He said: “We look forward to receiving you and the Israeli citizens in Bahrain, and we aspire to fly direct planes to Israel soon.”

Notably, the Bahraini minister arrived in Israel on Tuesday at the start of a three-day visit, during which he will meet with Israeli officials, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

A delegation from the Bahraini government visited Israel on 18 last month to sign cooperation agreements between the two countries. Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain signed a US-sponsored peace agreement on September 15.
